Glyn Reginald Pope
March 15, 1929 - March 9, 2026
Glyn (Pope) passed away peacefully in his sleep Monday morning around 3 a.m. 3/09/2026 at the Bay Pines Veterans Administration in Saint Petersburg, Florida. He was preceded by his wife Ada Ruth (Grice) Pope, parents, siblings, and daughter (Mary Lea (Grice, Pope, Peifer) Wrenn) and is succeeded by his four sons George (Nancy), John (Lori), James (Marybeth), Paul (Connie) their children, James Peifer, Gary Peiffer, Thomas Peifer, Tracy (Pope) Clark, Karly Murphy, Johnny Pope, Katelyn Pope, Chris Pope, Hannah Gandoff and many grandchildren the great grandchildren of Glyn and Ruth. He was born in East Texas, his family in Franklin and Titus counties and raised in the vicinity, his wife Ruth of Jones La and Wilmot Arkansas, he met in Texarkana early in his career in the U.S Navy. The family residing in Texas and followed his career as he changed duty stations then settled in the suburbs of Washington D.C. for many years followed by time in the Tampa Florida area before returning to Parkdale Arkansas when they retired. In recent years he (they) returned to the Tampa Bay area to be closer to family. Most recently he has been residing at Oak Manor Assisted Living facility where he could be visited and assisted by his sons. Glyn was an active enthusiast in Genealogy for many years and endorsed and supported the Franklin County Texas Genealogical Society in Mt Vernon Texas.
No public service is planned as his sons will be returning Glyn and Ruth to Mt Vernon Cemetery in May
